Jose Quirarte, MA, AMFT (#143062)

Jose Quirarte (he/him) is a second generation, queer, and Latinx therapist with a deep passion for supporting and uplifting marginalized communities. He has a degree in history from Cal Poly Pomona with an early interest in becoming a history teacher focused upon BIPOC American history. However, his passion in learning about BIPOC stories inspired him to want to work more hands-on within the communities he researched. He changed careers and completed his Master’s degree for Marital and Family Therapy at Alliant International University, where he worked at a high school in downtown Los Angeles supporting Latinx teens and their families. Jose is currently in a PhD program for Marriage and Family Therapy with the goal of conducting qualitative strength-based research within the Latinx community.
